An online source has indicated that a potential consumer scam is originating from Chicago with promises that consumers have won a "free gift". In reality, the article claims that the telemarketing campaign is simply trying to lure consumers into attending a high pressure sales presentation for timeshares and vacation packages.
..... "The phone message assures you that they are not telemarketers, that they know you are on the "Do Not Call List" and obviously they wouldn't be calling if they weren't legitimate, they say, and tell you that you have won a prize.".... If you believe that you have been a victim of consumer fraud perpetrated by a company operating out of Illinois, you can report the crime to the Illinois Attorney General at http://illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/. Consumers can also report telemarketing and Do Not Call violations at the website of the Federal Communications Commission at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm. Vacation-Times.org provides timeshare related consumer services including free fraud alerts, timeshare classifieds, trusted timeshare rentals, and referral services for timeshare resale brokers and title companies.

truly we have not stated anyone has won anything. And we explain that the cll orginated from a reponse from an entry form being completed, form an event or on line. We also disclose is we call on behalf of the companies doing the promotions. NO SCAM or unethical practice

I NEVER fill out entry forms... NEVER... for warranties or prize contests. However I have received 3 calls from this group. They use a generic script saying I have won a prize... but they don't actually tell me who I am... something like "Dear Participant." Annoying.

My grandmother has been getting has been receiving calls in south Louisiana. From Premium Gifting, and Winners International Awards Company, telling her that she has won 3rd place, which apparently consists of a 2011 Pearl White Mercedes Benz, and One Million dollars. Now After telling her this they say she has to send a money-gram of $250.00 to pay for storage fees. Then they proceeded to tell her that if she didn't send the money that they would send the police to pick up my grandmother, because it's all supposedly already proceeded. When she asked them where she supposedly signed up for this contest and it was processed they told her that it is automatic when you buy more than $25.00 of groceries or other items at Walmart. My grandmother called the police and reported this and they told her it was a BIG SCAM SCARING OLDER PEOPLE ON FIXED INCOMES that you can not send people to jail for not paying people they do not know for things that where supposedly automatically signed up for.

These idiots called me last night from 708-566-5183 and just a few minutes ago from 708-898-2523. A voicemail msg was left this morning but it was a recording instructing how to record over the default recording. The caller id showed Premium Gifting on both calls. I feel cheated that I didn't even get the "you've won a prize" msg. lol

These people have been calling me for months saying I have won a car. The latest call came from 708 898 1279 from a guy named "Kevin". This was about the 15th "last call" saying it would "be in my best interest" to return the call.

Hey, the 3rd car I won in a drawing. Call from 708-898-1287 to also call 1-866-933-6013x124 and ask for Kevin. Considering that I never entered any contests I feel pretty lucky. How is this scam still around? What the hell is the government doing?

I got the call last night from 708-898-1281. Caller ID said "Premium Gifting." Apparently, I surprised the caller by picking up because she stumbled and then said, "Sorry, wrong number. Have a nice day," and then hung up.

I got a call last night and asked for me, well they had my first initial and last name. Said I won a prize either a new Ford Explorer, $25,000 cash, a trip to several places ie Aruba she listed, or a new TV. I had to go to MAP Destinations in St. Augustine Fl and do a scratch card to see which of these prizes I won. I said is this where I have to do a timeshare presentation, she said no. There is no MAP Destinations in St. Augustine, the number she gave me to call her back is 866-933-6013. Im glad I looked into this first.

I had the exact same experience as "Fed Up" as far as the car, the $25,000, about twenty "trips" and a TV. I was told my "only" obligation was to agree to allow them to publicize me if I "Won" the car. I said sure. The guy then gave me a claim number and said he had two "slots" open, the slots being a time for me to go someplace (it was two words, can't remember the first but the second was "Destinations") in Va. Beach and scratch off a ticket. I told him "No, I'm not doing that and hung up. This makes me pretty mad, and why doesn't the FTC crack down. I AM on the so-called "Do Not Call List".

I just received a call from "Ronda with Premium Gifting" - admonishing me "I've made numerous attempts to contact you" "It would be in your best interest to call me back"...seems I "registered 12-18 months ago for a car" and I am now "eligible for one of our 3 grand prizes"...866-933-6013 was the number she left...seems this number was associated with another scam a few monts ago

Wow! I don't feel like such an idiot now. They had me all worked up about winning a drawing, which I did enter one for the first time ever the weekend before I got the call. I had a choice of a 2011 Ford Explore, (which did seem odd because I entered in for a 2012 Honda CRV) $25,000, or a 27" flat screen tv. When she ran through the qualifications, I felt so upset because I did not meet the requirements. I'm relieved now though! Thanks for posting this info!

I am receiving calls from 708-515-9599 too an it comes up as David Lee Inc. I just don't answer ?? I too receive the same calls from 708-515-9599 that shows David Lee Inc. with the same speel. I am on the do not call list also, but it seems that this is not a determent to them because they are saying that someone has completed a entry form in my name. That sends up a red flag.

Uggghhhh.....what a waste of time. During dinner I get a call that I won an amazing trip. They wasted 30 minutes of my time, then told me that I had to pay $350 per person....AND visit some of their properties! Do they really get people suckered into this???

I received a call from David Lee Inc. (708-898-1269) and Premium Group. I asked the direct question, "Is this event a timeshare presentation?" and Avonda said, "No". But, then she said to be sure that my husband and I bring ID with the same address and a major credit card. So, that answered my question. We're not attending the event and don't appreciate being contacted in spite of our number being on the Do Not Call list. Comments are closed.
