"...Just a heads up on potential new scammers. I just received an unsolicited phone call from a Joe Leonard representing Premium Time Share Exchange in Florida. He offered and guaranteed to rent my RCI bonus weeks due to affiliation with my Worldmark timeshare for a minimum of $1800 per week. However, I have to submit $1299 up front to cover registration and liability coverages. They will send contracts and do the rest. Although I do own a timeshare with Worldmark, I have no such benefit of bonus weeks with RCI whats so ever, nor have I ever have...."
It is not clear at this time if this "company" has any affiliation, or is the same group that was previously reported to be operating under the name "Premium Timeshares Only", which also was operating out of Florida and was alleged to require a large upfront fee for promised rentals.
Consumers should never pay any type of upfront fee to sell or rent a timeshare, and should never pay money to any telemarketer who solicits for timeshare services. Unsolicited cold calls about timeshare services are a common indicator that it is a con artist on the other end of the phone line! Legitimate resellers and rental brokers DO NOT purchase black market owner's lists, and never make unsolicited telemarketing calls.
