A reader submitted a trave review for the Gold Coast Railroad Museum, located at 12450 S.W. 152nd Street  in Miami, Florida. You can find more information on this South Florida attraction and visit the museum website by clicking HERE.

"I recently visited the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami and had a very  pleasant surprise. Among their many historic trains and engines is the Presidential Railcar Ferdinand Magellan. This is a really amazing piece of history which has been recently restored with grant money. This was the famous train Truman and President Roosevelt used in World War Two.

I am a real history buff and found this display amazing. The museum had other very interesting displays as well including one on World War two blimps. I highly recommend this  museum for all ages. I saw a school group at the museum the day I visited and I am glad of that because this is something all school children need to see!"

Editor's Note: The Bonnet Creek Resort is part of the Club Wyndham portfolio of timeshare resorts and is located on Disney property at 9560 Via Encinas, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830.

The Wyndham Bonnet Creek was a great place to stay. The pools were fun and the children enjoyed the lazy rivers and slides. The room was spacious and clean. Check in took some time as you need to go to more than one desk to get all of your information. The resort is close to Disney attractions and driving to the parks was easy. We enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again some day.

The Lawrence Welk Resort Villas are located at 8860 Lawrence Welk Drive in Escondido, California.

Welk Resort Escondido, CA. Resort was easy to find, and check in for the most part was easy. I say the "most part" because after the physical check in, (which was flawless), we were directed to the "concierge" for our parking pass. The "concierge" was actually the person booking timeshare appts. Prior to getting our parking pass, we had to listen to all the "free" things she was offering us. We politely declined the free meals, drinks & tee times, and she was firm with out being too pushy.

The resort room suite itself was easy to locate, with lots of parking. The suite was spacious and spotless, all amenities were present, including laundry, and in working order. Room service attended once during the 1 week stay to switch out linens. I had dropped a daily vitamin early in the week, and it was nicely placed on the kitchen counter! Great service-lol!

Despite prior reservations about the "possible decor" borne from remembrance of the old Welk television show sets, I was pleasantly surprised at how modern and well appointed the complex and suites were.

Definitely recommended, but know that a car is a must, otherwise you will be restricted to resort facilities.

Editors note: Sheraton Vistana Resort is located at 8800 Vistana Centre Drive in Orlando, Florida. This timeshare resort is part of the Starwood Vacation Ownership system. This property was the first timeshare resort developed in Orlando, and every section has recently been completely refurbished.

We are a family of six, with children ranging from 3 to 16. This was our very first stay in a timeshare resort, and it was a fantastic way to vacation! In the past, we've always stayed at hotels and just placed the older kids in the adjacent room- but this was a much better way to visit Orlando! The two bedroom villa was huge and the kitchen was a great money saver for us since we could cook some meals instead of eating at restaurants. I can't remember the last time we all sat at the same table for a meal before this trip.

The resort grounds were beautiful. There are pools everywhere! One of the pools was being worked on, but there were many others. The resort is huge and at least a hundred acres, but we could walk from pool to pool without any real trouble. We actually spent two days at the resort just relaxing by the pools. They were all heated, and while it was cold in the morning and evening- during the middle of the day it was very comfortable! We are from Mass, so the idea of sitting by a pool in January is just amazing. We also did plenty of activities right at the resort. There is a restaurant there, but it was just average. With so many restaurants in the area, it was easy to find just about anything you could want. We also went to the Arabian Nights Dinner Show and it was expensive but a good time. The older kids wanted either Pirates or Medieval Times, but I vetoed them as I thought those might scare the little one.

We did the Disney parks and also Universal Studios. The resort is just a few minutes from the Disney arch, and maybe a ten minute drive to Universal. The younger kids preferred Disney of course. The older kids loved Universal. My two oldest rode the Hulk roller coaster over and over again!

I just want to thank Vacation-Times for the rental. We spent less than we would have on two hotel rooms, and had a much better experience in the villa. I'll be calling for our next vacation!

_We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo that looked out over one of three golf courses on the property. It was incredible! The rooms were beautiful. Flat screen TVs, a full kitchen with a dishwasher, washer and dryer- everything! 3 bathrooms made getting out in the mornings very easy.  We had originally planned on spending all week at the Disney parks, but had such a great time we actually spent three whole days just at the resort. My husband played golf on all three courses and raved about them (imagine playing golf in December on a beautiful green course). The older kids spent three whole days just floating down the lazy river and going down the water slides. The water park here was so nice we didn't even bother to go to others. The weather was stunning. Highs around 80 and lows at night in the 50's. Much better than Ohio! My youngest had a blast in the heated pools and water features. It isn't as big as Blizzard Beach or Aquatica- but it was much more convenient and we got eight free passes good for our entire stay as a guest of a Wyndham timeshare owner. This really was one of the best Orlando vacations we've ever had! We will be back..

Thank you Richard for the incredible vacation rental through Vacation-Times.org!

We stayed at this resort on a timeshare tour. We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was lovely. The unit was clean, well-decorated and had a private lanai where you could sit and watch the theme park fireworks each night. We are a family of five so all three kids slept on the pull out sofa. The room was big though, so there was plenty of room. The kitchen is better than what I have at home! It was fully equipped with everything you could think of. We ate most of our meals in the room, so saved a ton of money that we normally would have spent on restaurants. There is a Super Wal-Mart just down the road, so it was easy to shop for everything we needed. We also picked up some pool toys for the kids- and even some souvenirs there (the Disney stuff there was much cheaper than the theme parks!).

The timeshare sales pitch was very slick and they definitely want to pressure you to buy on the spot! This was the only thing I did not like about the whole trip. They really tried to force us to make an impulse buy, which I just don't do, especially not to the tune of thousands of dollars! They refuse to allow you to think it over, all the deals they offer are now or never. When I came home I found out why because a quick google search showed us resales that were much cheaper. I couldn't find financing for resales though, so we still haven't decided whether or not to buy. The timeshare tour was unpleasant, but everything else was absolutely perfect!

_This resort is an incredible property on the friendliest island in the Caribbean. This is our second year staying for two weeks and if we could afford to stay longer we would;)! The resort pools are spectacular and the beach is breathtaking. The employees here are all very gracious and even though it is a timeshare, I have never had anyone be too aggressive to get me to tour. We simply rent weeks each year, but have really considered buying a few times. If rental prices continue to increase, we may have to take the plunge! The villas are luxury suites, and very spacious. The restaurants are good, and you can easily get to the nearby shopping district for groceries and souvenirs.  Our kids love this place! Hours of fun on the beach, on the water slides, and in the lazy river.

(Editors Note: Villa del Arco is located at Km. 5 Camino Viejo a San José in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Thank you for the gorgeous photos!)

This was our second time staying at this resort, and we look forward to returning again! Medano Beach is our favorite beach in Cabo and the resort is close to downtown. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, with a kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, two bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub. The rooms are spacious and have a private patio. The staff is very friendly.

This resort offers all inclusive packages, but we don't drink much so did not purchase that program. There is a nearby Walmart where we shopped.  The best thing about this resort is its location. It is far enough away from all the beach action that you don't hear any noise at night, but it is close enough that you can walk down the beach to activities, bars and restaurants. When here you can access the amenities at the sister resort Villa del Palmar. They have a small grocery there and it is within walking distance, so we went there twice to pick up small items.

We love Cabo! We've been here many times and will keep coming back. Buying at this timeshare was a great decision!

(Editors note: Marriott Grand Ocean is located at 1044 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head, South Carolina. Also, it is worth mentioning that I have stayed at many timeshare resorts and have never been "required" to attend a sales presentation. The only time a timeshare tour would be mandatory is when the consumer accepts a discounted and developer subsidized stay in exchange for the promise of attending a sales presentation.)

We booked this resort for a few nights in early October through an online agency, not realizing this was even a timeshare. Much to our surprise we realized what the property was when we arrived and were offered a timeshare tour! We worried that there was no cleaning service and we would be responsible for washing and cleaning everything before we left. We talked to the manager who was very helpful and offered us a daily cleaning at no charge. The rental was described as Oceanside but we could not see the ocean from the room. These problems were the fault of the website, not the resort but I thought they should be mentioned here.

The room was incredible with two large bedrooms and a spacious living room and kitchen. The grounds were beautiful with swings and rocking chairs all over the property. There were always activities available. I am not a fan of time shares but if I were, this would be one I would return to again. The resort was beautiful, but time shares have a bad reputation and I was sure we would be required to spend hours with a salesperson. We kept saying no, and everyone was very polite so we actually did not have any trouble like people talk about.

(Editor's note: Perennial Vacation Club at Daytona is located at 2525 S Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. The Perennial Vacation Club system is a non deed timeshare program, where members do not own a particular resort but rather have access to a particular unit size at any Perennial affiliate.)

Just spent a few days in a one bedroom villa at this resort, which is located at 2525 South Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores. The villa was very large for a one bedroom, and all the furniture and decor appeared to be in great condition. The kitchen was fully equipped, and there were all tile floors which made sweeping up the beach sand very easy. This is a very small resort with a reasonably sized pool and direct access to a quiet stretch of beach. The property is not far from the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, and is just a few miles from the Ocean Center and the Shoppes at the Ocean Walk, so it is convenient to all the local attractions. I was also very impressed with the staff.   If you enjoy a small private resort, this facility would be perfect for your family!
